We have many options available to all our drivers who want to help protect the environment (or spend less on gas) at Liberty Ford Of Maple Heights. Which works best for your lifestyle?

Our least divergent option is the Ford EcoBoost engine. It utilizes turbocharging and direct injection to get more power out of fewer cylinders, a practice that increases fuel economy without sacrifice. You can find EcoBoost on almost all of our new vehicles, from the tiny Fiesta, to the mighty F-150.

Then, electricity comes into play with the hybrid.

You may have wondered, what is the difference between the Ford Fusion Hybrid, and the Ford Fusion Energi? A standard hybrid uses an electric motor to supplement its gas engine, and its battery is charged by regenerative braking.

The Fusion Energi is a plug-in hybrid, which runs on a more powerful battery, supplemented by its gas engine. A plug-in can drive for short spurts on electric power alone, switching into hybrid mode for longer excursions. The battery is partially charged by regenerative braking, but must be plugged in to receive the greatest mpg benefit.

Ford currently has one all-electric model in its lineup, but that may change in a few years. The automaker has promised 13 new electric vehicles by 2020.
